Nick Seidner | Rising Meadow Pottery

Collective is one of the finest galleries in Vermont to see a comprehensive collection my pottery fresh from recent firings.  When you visit you will find some of my work displayed on an antique sycamore farm table which reflects the home spun quality of my functional ware.  I am firing two kilns presently at my pottery in Middletown Springs and bring fresh work with me each time I staff the gallery.

My gas reduction fired, Swirlware, is made with a dark stoneware clay and a liquid white porcelain slip is swooshed on the leather hard pots with a floppy brush.  An ash glaze is applied and fired to 2400 degrees Fahrenheit.  This is my pared down version of minimal tableware.  My wood fired work is fueled with kiln dried wood from a local flooring mill.  There is a salt glazed zone of the kiln, but the majority of the work is glazed with glazes I developed using local stones from slate and marble quarries to name just the corner stones.  I would love to tell you more about my work, so please visit when in Woodstock, Vermont.
